Beacon Bay is a lovely suburb toward the East of East London.

Beacon Bay and the water

Beacon Bay is located between the Quinera and Nahoon rivers of East London, a city with four useable rivers, ideal for fishing, boating and a multitude of water sports. The Bonza Bay beach is a popular attraction for visitors and offers lagoon paddling for the little ones, a lovely tanning beach and is a popular surf spot. There is a lovely beach walk, alongside interesting rock pools, as one meanders between the two river mouths.

Shopping

In addition to one of the best SuperSpar’s in the country, Beacon Bay is home to a small OK Food store; a Pick ‘n Pay and a mini-Woolworth’s Food. All the major fast-food outlets are present in Beacon Bay which also has three malls, Retail Park; The Hub and The Crossing. As far as shopping goes there are few reasons to leave the confines of Beacon Bay where you’re sure to find whatever you might be looking for.

Gym’s Restaurants and other attractions

In addition to the lovely beaches and riverine environment, one can enjoy either of the two popular Gym’s, Virgin Active and Body Culture, as well as the sports facilities (squash and tennis; cricket, football etc available at the Beacon Bay Country Club.

At The Crossing there are many restaurants, La Cantina specialises in Mexican Food; Sanook serve pizza and Italian delicacies and Rock-o-Mama’s are well known for their burgers. We also have Shanghai who cater for those wanting sushi and other eastern delights. Debonair’s and Guido’s offer good food as do the local Wimpy and Sur chains. The Pine Creek Country store and craft markets is a great place to take the family, the children will certainly enjoy one of the best play centres available along with the mini-train.
